It is caused by the jaw being genetically too large or the teeth being too small. In addition to these, various injuries, accidents and tooth loss can also cause diastema. Diastema causes some problems not only in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of health for the patient. Patients with diastema have an oral structure that is more prone to bacteria and plaque formation because there are spaces between the teeth that are not normally present. In addition, speech disorders are often experienced due to the tongue getting stuck in these spaces.

Diastema Treatment

When determining the treatment to be preferred in case of diastema, i.e. tooth gap, the distance between the teeth is first examined. There are 3 different treatment methods that are commonly applied by evaluating the tooth gap distance.

Composite Veneer (Composite Bonding)

It is a practical method used in cases where the space between teeth is minimal and in cases of mild tooth wear and fractures. It is the process of enlarging the teeth that form the tooth gap by covering them with a composite material. The treatment is usually completed in a single session. It is necessary to protect the teeth that are applied with composite veneers because they are more sensitive than other methods.

Porcelain Laminate (Leaf Porcelain)

It is a method used in mild and moderate tooth gaps and fractures. In this treatment application, the surface of the teeth is filed down to an appropriate amount, laminates are prepared according to the size of the tooth and bonded to the tooth. It is more durable and permanent than the composite veneer method.

Orthodontic Treatment

It is the preferred treatment method in cases where there is an advanced degree of tooth gap and malocclusion. It is performed by preserving the patient’s own natural teeth. The treatment period is longer than other methods.

[217,218,220,221
post-7080","services","type-services","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","services_category-aesthetic-dentistry","services_category-orthodontic-treatments","services_category-prosthetic-treatments","services_category-restorative-dentistry
["GET
