WHAT IS AN IMPLANT?
Dental implants are titanium screws placed in the jawbone that take on the role of the tooth root in order to restore the aesthetics and function of teeth lost due to untreatable decay, fractures, gum problems, trauma and systemic diseases.
WHY SHOULD I GET AN IMPLANT?
Just as unused muscles in the body waste away, the bone that is left empty without teeth also wastes away because it is not used. When an implant is placed in an edentulous area, we regain chewing, phonation (speaking) and aesthetic functions, and since we add this bone back to function (use it), we also delay the bone loss in that area and protect the existing bone. The most common complaints of patients who have lost all their teeth and use removable total dentures (full palate) made especially in the lower jaw, such as moving, protrusion, and chewing problems, can be solved with 2 or 3 implants. In cases where implant treatment is applicable, instead of reducing the size of the teeth next to the gap and making a bridge, the missing teeth can be eliminated by placing an implant in the area where the missing tooth is in the mouth, without touching the healthy teeth at all.

CAN EVERYONE GET IMPLANTS?
Implants can be placed on any adult patient who has no general health problems and can have a tooth extraction. For patients with general health problems, it can only be done after consulting with their doctor and taking the necessary precautions. Teeth grinding habits, smoking, severe gum problems, certain medications used, and oral hygiene are also factors affecting the success of the implant. Although bone structure seems to be the most important problem, today the bone can be made ready for implant application with various interventions.
HOW LONG DOES IMPLANT TREATMENT LAST?
This process may vary between 0 and 6 months depending on the implant brand used, the density of the bone area where the implant is placed, and the health status of the person.
CAN IMPLANTS BE PLACED AS SOON AS TEETH ARE EXTRACTED?
If the necessary intraoral and radiological examinations are performed and the conditions are suitable, the implant can be placed immediately after the tooth is extracted.
HOW TO KNOW IF THE BONE IS SUITABLE FOR AN IMPLANT?
Whether it is suitable or not is determined by intraoral examination and radiological findings. The most definitive diagnosis can be made with a dental tomography (three-dimensional x-ray) device.
WHEN WILL MY TEETH BE FITTED AFTER IMPLANT?
After implant operations, if the bone density and other positions are suitable, the patient’s prostheses can be placed immediately; if not, temporary prostheses are prepared to be used during the treatment.
WILL I FEEL PAIN DURING THE OPERATION?
Implant operations are performed under local anesthesia. Bone is a tissue that is more easily numb than teeth, so patients do not feel any pain or ache during the procedure. In patients with suitable bone density and all conditions, an implant can be placed in 3-5 minutes and is an easy procedure. There may be slight edema and pain for a few days after the operation. In most cases, there is no need to use painkillers after the operation.
In our clinic
- All On Four
- All on six
- All on eight
Implant applications are made.
With the All on Eight treatment, patients with no teeth in their mouths are given fixed teeth (crown) treatment instead of removable (removable) prosthesis, and the quality of life of the patients is increased.
